The Board of Directors is seeking a dynamic visionary elementary school principal beginning Fall 2008-2009 school year. NDS is a community of learners in which student achievement, interests and strengths, and character growth are expected and supported in a positive, inclusive, project-base enriched environment.

Requirements:  Master’s degree in education or related field and currently holds or is eligible for a North Carolina Principal license.

Duties and Responsibilities:  Provide educational leadership for school development and growth. Coordinate/supervise the day-to-day operations and administration of the school; supervise and evaluate teachers/support staff and school programs; report monthly school progress to school board; maintain current knowledge on best practices in elementary education; assist with professional development; oversee school budget and human resources documents, familiar with federal and state reports. We provide a benefits package and salary is commensurate with experience.

JOHNSTON COUNTY

Neuse Charter School of Johnston County is seeking an exceptional leader to serve as the school's Director. The Director has overall management and oversight of the school and reports directly to the school's Board of Directors. At the direction of the Board, and with the support of the staff, the Director will ensure that the school
operates in fulfillment with NCS's mission as spelled out in the school's charter and in compliance with the charter school law. He or she will work with the Board and its committees to ensure that the school makes sound strategic decisions on the use of resources and operates in an effective and fiscally sound manner. He or she will be directly responsible for the administration of the school, including the hiring, management, and oversight of all staff; oversight and management of the school's finances; fundraising from the public and private sectors; human resources; student recruitment; operations of the school; facilities management; and responsibility for the school's
compliance with government regulations.

The school seeks an experienced manager who is truly a team player and is able to inspire and engage all stakeholders to ensure that NCS supports the school's primary mission: excellence in educating children.
As the school is in its infancy, the Director will have significant opportunity to build the school's infrastructure, both personnel and operations, as it grows to full potential. As such, the position will require strong finance and managerial skills, the ability to work and think strategically and entrepreneurially to help NCS achieve its
goals, and a willingness to commit time and energy to growing and sustaining a flourishing school community. A minimum of master's degree in education administration is required (doctorate preferred).
